Before you buy the latest sequined fashions this Christmas, it is worth having a think about the impact sequins have on the environment and if there are any ways you can change your shopping habits to be more eco-friendly.
One way to do this is by saying no to new sequins and only buying second-hand clothes, shoes and bags. Sites such as eBay, Vinted and Depop are awash with pre-loved sequinned clothing at this time of year and you might even bag yourself a bargain.
Just like with fast fashion, the fewer sequined items that are bought, the less that will be produced.
You can also help by selling or donating any sequins you no longer wear and choosing classic pieces that won’t go out of style.
