Want to make your bedroom cozy?

This post takes a look at eight of the easiest ways to do just that.

We spend a lot of time in our bedrooms and even if we’re not awake for all of it, there is no reason it can’t be a cozy and inviting place.

Here are eight tips to make your bedroom cosy.

How To Make Your Bedroom Cozy

1. Add Some String Lights

Adding some string lights is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to make your bedroom feel cozy.

Fairy lights aren’t just for children and there is a wide range of colours, and styles available to suit every taste.

You can also choose between plug-in or battery-operated depending on your needs

Opt for yellow lights (rather than bright white) to help create a cozy and relaxing atmosphere in your bedroom. You could even find lights that gently twinkle.

2. Buy Some Throws

Adding texture is a great way to make a room feel less bare, warmer and more cozy.

Although you probably already have a duvet, consider adding a couple of textured throws to your bed. These could be big and fluffy for extra warmth or something with a simpler texture.

This will add to the feeling of coziness and also make your bedroom feel more stylish and put together.

You could also add a throw over a chair if you have one to help bring the room together.

3. Invest In Good Quality Curtains

The more you spend on curtains, the more of a luxurious feel they will give to your bedroom so this is one area worth investing a little extra money in.

Buy the best curtains you can afford within your budget and you can’t go too far wrong.

Good quality curtains will last many years and are something that won’t often need replacing if they are well looked after.

Choose a neutral colour such as black or biege so they can remain even if you decide to change your decor at a later date.

As well as giving a feeling of cosiness, thick curtains will keep the cold out during winter.

4. Add A Big Fluffy Rug

Whether you have wooden flooring or carpet, adding a lovely fluffy rug will always add a sense of coziness and warmth to your bedroom.

A woman is sat on the edge of the a bed, with her feet on a fluffy throw.

It’s also nice not to step onto cold floors first thing in the morning!

Fluffy rugs come in many different styles and colour, so it should be easy to find something that suits your decor.

5. Choose Warm Colours

How you decorate your bedroom can make a huge difference as some colours just don’t feel warm and cozy!

Take a look at neural colours such as beige, cream and ivory as a starting point and if you want to add some colour pastels are perfect.

Remember that soft browns and earth tones can help you sleep as can various shades of blue.

Avoid bright colours such as red, orange and purple.

6. Make Your Bedroom Cozy With Soft Lighting

Being able to lower the lighting in your bedroom is an easy way to make it feel more cozy.

This could be achieved with simple bedside lamps or by adding a dimmer switch to your main overhead light.

You can also buy lamps which have a range of brightness settings.

While the fairy lights I mentioned above are a wonderful aesthetic choice, they don’t always provide quite enough light for reading so one or two well-placed lamps are a must.

7. Avoid Clutter

Clutter can make any room feel less relaxing, but can especially be an issue for the room we sleep in.

Take the time to have a good declutter of your bedroom and add storage where needed so that everything has a place.

8. Cozy Cushions

Cushions are another easy way to make a bedroom feel more cozy and lived in, especially if the room is looking a bit bland.

Cushions can add a pop of colour if you’ve chosen neutral tones for the walls – just be aware that you might get fed up with picking them up from the floor every morning!

I hope these tips have give you some ideas on the easiest ways to make your bedroom cozy.
