Looking for something fun, tasty and easy to do with the kids this Easter? We had a great time putting together this lovely Easter nest, perfect to nibble on over the school holidays.
Now, let’s be clear, this is not the most aesthetic Easter snack you’ll see this year.
But it was made, with love, by my six-year-old, and she is very proud of it.
And the great thing is, this is one of those things you don’t need a recipe for (although I will share the exact amounts we used below), as nothing can go too far wrong.
If you melt some extra chocolate or use a few extra pretzels, then you’ll still get the same tasty results.
Plus, if you want to make it giant or teeny tiny, that’s possible too.
Hopefully, many of the things we used to make these are things that you might already have in your store cupboard.
There’s also scope to add any extras you’d like. I did suggest some sprinkles, but my daughter was having none of it, which is unusual, as when she decorates biscuits, there are usually sprinkles everywhere.
As mentioned above, I’m trying to share some realistic home makes because even though I love cooking, not everything always has to look perfect.
Why We Love This Easter Wreath
- Super easy to make – no cooking involved.
- Easy to scale up if you have lots of children to entertain.
- Uses store cupboard ingredients.
- Looks very cute.
- Can be made bigger or smaller as needed.
- Assembly Recipe – No measuring needed.
Ingredients
- 100 grams of chocolate – this can be milk, white or dark
- Around 50 Pretzels, we used these from Grape Tree
- Sweets or sprinkles for decorating – we used Smarties and mini eggs.
You will also need: Greaseproof paper, a small bowl for melting the chocolate, small spoon for mixing and drizzling the chocolate.

Method
- Get started by laying out some greaseproof paper.
- Melt around half the chocolate (50 grams) in the microwave using short thirty-second blasts, stirring in between until melted. You could also melt on the stovetop over a pan of boiling water.
- Part dip the pretzels into the chocolate and then place them one by one into a wreath shape on the greaseproof paper. We used eight pretzels to form the bottom circle.
- Drizzle extra chocolate where the pretzels meet to ensure the wreath sticks together once cold.
- Repeat the process for the top layer of pretzels – we used nine for this to form a slightly wider top layer.
- Finish by drizzling with chocolate and adding any decorations such as sprinkles, smarties or mini eggs. Leave until the chocolate has set before carefully removing from the greaseproof paper. Enjoy!
Top Tips
We found these easy to make, but here are a few top tips!
- We found melting a little bit of chocolate at a time easiest – half a bar was enough for one wreath. We then just melted more chocolate for the next batch.
- You can easily change between different types of chocolate if you want to.
- Be extra careful if using mini eggs – these are a choking hazard for under-fives and even older children should be supervised when eating them. You can crush them into pieces if you’d like to use them with younger children.
