I love shopping on Vinted BUT there are some ways that the app could be improved. Here are five things I think should be added to the Vinted App ASAP.
I do a lot of shopping on Vinted. For myself and my children. As well as buying clothes I’ve also purchased toys, baby accessories, shoes and homeware.
However, there are a few things that could be improved when it comes to the Vinted.
Not that I think anyone at Vinted is going to see this post, I just fancied a whinge!
1. Reverse Image Search
When you shop on Vinted often, you sort of get used to how cheap everything is and slowly become more and more horrified at the price of buying new.
Now, this isn’t a bad thing. It’s fantastic more people are shopping second-hand.
But, I would love to be able to snap a picture of a dress, in a shop and then pop that image into Vinted to see what comes up.
Sometimes, even after a lot of searching you can’t find an exact match, even though there is one there because the seller hasn’t described the item well at all.
It would also help if you’ve found your dream dress/jeans/shoes etc but not in the right size.
2. Gift Vouchers
From an eco point of view and for the money it saves, I prefer to buy second-hand.
Most of my friends and family know and support this. But there are still times I’m gifted vouchers for places like Next and I’d rather shop on Vinted (and before anyone says anything I know how lucky I am to be gifted anything at all).
I would love it if I could ask for vouchers for Vinted so I can buy something I love ethically and sustainably and get more for my money at the same time.
The Charity Shop Gift Card is a great alternative though, if you are looking for a way to gift someone who like me, loves to shop second hand!
3. Monthly Postage Fees
This is something I saw on TikTok and I wholeheartedly agree. Paying a monthly postage fee on Vinted.
Now, I know it would probably be way too difficult to set up but it would mean more sales for sellers and fewer clothes going to landfill.
One of the problems with Vinted is that people don’t want to pay (minimum) £2.30 postage plus fees on a £1 item. But you also don’t want to pay more than £1 for a second-hand kids t-shirt from Primark that was probably only £3 to begin with, it’s just not worth it.
In most instances, buyers would probably make a bundle in this situation, but unlimited postage for a set monthly fee would be amazing.

4. Better Shipping Options For Large Items (cause frankly, Yodel can do one!)
I recently sold a few larger-than-average items on Vinted.
Nothing huge, just a couple of baby items including a baby support seat and mini high chair.
When I first uploaded these items, I was inundated with messages from people asking why they couldn’t buy.
After a quick Google, I found that this was because I had Yodel shipping switched off as there are no drop-off points near my house.
When you upload items Vinted recognises them and suggests the shipping weight and price, but doesn’t allow you to change the courier.
As the items were on the more expensive side, I decided it was worth a trip to a drop-off a bit further away than normal so I switched this postage option back on to make the sales.
The first drop-off I tried wouldn’t let me post the bigger of the two parcels. They said it was too big and to try another drop off asserting that their van driver wouldn’t accept anything bigger than a shoebox.
Yodel’s website states their biggest accepted parcel size is 50 x 50 x 60 – I measured and my parcel was much smaller than this.
But, I unwrapped and rewrapped it to make it a bit smaller and prayed to the delivery gods that it wouldn’t get damaged in transit.
The next day I tried a different drop-off point just to be on the safe side. They wouldn’t accept the parcel either but this time because their Yodel bag was full.
Okay, fair enough.
That said, I’ve never been to a post office that’s been too full to accept a parcel.
Finally, I got the parcel sent off the following day but the shop assistant did question its size and weight and said the delivery driver would refuse their parcels if the Yodel bag was too heavy.
Thankfully my parcel was light but Yodel drop-off points should be accepting anything up to 10kg as per the Yodel website.
Or, the Yodel website should be clear about any restrictions that are in place at certain drop off points.
So it took three trips to drop off a parcel that was well within Yodel’s stated size guidelines.
When I spoke to live chat about this issue they suggested I try a different drop-off point, but surely in the same town, it’s likely to be the same few drivers, who clearly won’t accept larger parcels.
I asked what would happen if I tried ten different drop-off points and they all refused.
Live chat couldn’t answer.
When I asked if drop-off points were allowed to refuse parcels based on size, I was told to take it up with the company I bought the parcel label from.
Err, so that would be Yodel then?
Anyway, Yodel was a nightmare on this occasion and it’s put me off selling larger items on Vinted as I probably spent nearly as much in petrol getting these items dropped off as I made from selling them!
And it looks like I’m not the only one with this issue: eBay sellers seem to be having the same problem.
I also don’t understand why Evri and Inpost aren’t an option for this type of parcel as I’ve had much bigger parcels than this delivered by them.
5. Improve Suggestions For Bundles
I upload a lot of bundles to Vinted as they sell well and I make more money with fewer trips to the post office.
When uploading to Vinted, there is a suggested price which can be helpful, but often this is only for one item rather than maybe five or six of the same thing.
If there is a bundle in the title of an upload, I think the prices and parcel size should reflect this as it would certainly make life easier!
6. Better Sizing Options For Kid’s Clothing
I buy and sell a lot of kid’s clothing on Vinted and it would be much easier if there were clearer sizing options that reflect the most common sizes in the UK.
In my opinion, there should be an option to list an item as a specific age eg. 6, 7 but also as an age range eg. 6-7.
The issue this causes is that when I search for age 7 clothes, I’m shown both 6-7 and 7-8, one of which isn’t what I need.
Vinted does already do this for baby and toddler clothing but it stops at age 2-3.
