Are you looking for the perfect crafty box for your children to enjoy this Christmas?
I was recently gifted the ‘Christmas Eve Is Coming’ elf themed craft box by A Little Bird Told Me, the social enterprise brand at Paperworks.
It’s run by people with disabilities who help to create and pack every box that is sold – giving them valuable work experience and employment opportunities.
What we loved about the box:

What We Thought of the ‘Christmas Eve Is Coming Box’
Now, I must admit, my kids’ creations were not exactly Insta-perfect, and that’s okay.
With a two-year-old involved, that was never going to happen – but as you can see from the picture below, he loved getting stuck in with the painting and glitter
I did set a few bits aside to make later with my seven-year-old once the little one was in bed, like the elf story and the elf training cards.
One of the great things about this box is that there’s genuinely something for all ages, and more than enough to share between several children or spread across several different days when you’d like something festive to do in the run-up to Christmas.
The elf cards are brilliant too, because they can be easily stored away and reused next year. And the tree decorations can be made and then brought out each Christmas as well, which I love.
I would wholeheartedly recommend purchasing this over other boxes I’ve seen online, many of which seem very plastic-heavy.
My only small niggle is that the instructions for some activities could be a little more detailed – there are no pictures for reference, which I think might disappoint some families who need clear inspiration for the contents of the box. Perhaps a QR code linking to images or step-by-step guides is something that could be considered in the future.
It also might be worth adding a clearer heads-up that popcorn isn’t suitable for under-fives. Since the box is aimed at age 3+ and the instructions only say ‘enjoy your snacks safely,’ it’s easy for people not to spot that.
Would I recommend this box for Christmas Eve?
No, simply because there’s so much to do within the box, I think it’s far better to spread the magic out over the whole month of December!
My advice would be to grab a box in the Black Friday sale and share it with your child on the first of December.
If you do Elf on the Shelf, the elf could even deliver it!
December 1st boxes are becoming so much more popular, as they allow everything inside to be enjoyed throughout the entire month, rather than just in one go.
