Are you looking for some non toy stocking fillers for kids? I’ve got you covered!

There are lots of reasons you might want to avoid putting toys in your children’s stockings.

It could be that you feel your house is already over-run with toys and you’d rather stick consumables or food items.

You might be looking to reduce plastic consumption with a more eco-friendly approach to Christmas.

Whatever your reasons, hopefully this list of twenty non-toy stocking fillers should give you all the inspiration you need.

1. Blue Tac

My first non toy stocking filler idea for kids is Blue Tac.

Blue tack appeals to kids for its simple, tactile nature and the endless possibilities it offers for creativity, play, and exploration.

It’s like a little tool for fun and imagination that’s safe, reusable, and easy to use! Even better, it’s very budget-friendly costing as little as £1 per pack.

Did you know you can even get pink blue tack?

2. Bath Bombs

Bath bombs make an excellent stocking filler for children of all ages and are also perfect for teenagers.

Younger children will enjoy bath bombs that reveal a toy or small piece of costume jewellery whereas young adults might prefer a luxury bath fizzer from somewhere such as Lush.

3. Feather Pen

Feather pens are perfect for children who a fans of all things Wizarding World.

4. Foam Soap

Bath items are one of my favourite non-toy stocking fillers for kids.

For my own children, I usually try to find a few fun items that are a bit different from our usual everyday bubble bath, for example, Matey bubble bath.

Foam soap is another great option, it’s praticle yet fun and usually pretty inexpensive too.

5.  Fluffy Socks

There are some people that argue that everyday items such as socks or pyjamas shouldn’t be part of a child’s Christmas present.

However, I think there is nothing wrong with a nice pair of snuggly, fluffy socks!

Fluffy socks are soft and warm, offering a sense of comfort and luxury. They’re perfect for lounging around the house or adding an extra layer of warmth during the winter months.

There are plenty of options for both boys and girls – my top pick is the Bluey socks pictured below!

6. Pack of Freddos

There is just something so satisfying about a Freddo, whether you opt for the original chocolate version or the caramel bar (and yes I’m old enough to remember when it was a Taz!).

I’ve included these as they are one of my daughter’s favourite treats and are relatively inexpensive to purchase a pack of five.

7. Expanding Flannels

Children will love the surprise and excitement of watching the flannel “grow” right before their eyes.

The process of expanding the cloth is often slow enough that it keeps them engaged, which can make it feel like a mini-science experiment or magic trick.

Expanding flannels can also introduce kids to simple principles of physics, such as how materials absorb water and expand when hydrated.

Quack snacks are a fun gift for any child (or adult for that matter!) who loves feeding the ducks.

These handy little packets ensure that you always have duck food ready to for a trip to the park with the added bonus of being much healthier for ducks than feeding them bread or other human food.

Shower puffs are inexpensive and widely available, making them a great choice for stocking fillers.

Full-sized board games can take up lots of space, plus younger children don’t always have the concentration needed to sit through a full game.

Travel board games are a perfect are a perfect stocking filler, especially if you have travel plans during the Christmas period.

Many hair accessories, like clips, scrunchies, headbands, and hair ties, come in various price ranges, making them a budget-friendly option for stocking fillers.

Choose face masks that are gentle and specially designed for children’s sensitive skin, avoiding those with harsh chemicals or irritants.

All types of facemasks should be avoided for young children.
